Want to see something really cool? Below is an image of the original application for organization of the Dallas club, made in October, 1928. All of the original members of the Dallas club signed this request when Dr. Helen Johnston was President of the National Association (this was before Altrusa was an international organization), Jennie Q. Olson was Secretary-Treasurer, Espa Standford was First Vice-President and Gertrude Roberts was Second Vice-President.

Amongst the ranks of those first members the occupations listed include physician, dentist, dietitian, executive secretary, librarian, and lawyer. This was 93 years ago!
