MLK First Grade Students ended the school year in an awards assembly. In their packet they received two additional books from Altrusa. “PETE THE CAT AND HIS SUMMER VACATION” Students will enjoy a trip to the beach. A series book, “FROG AND TOAD ARE FRIENDS” completes the selection, which provides a total of six books for the year. Teachers indicated their pleasure for CAMP READ A LOT and stated how much the kids enjoyed the tents. Plans for the new school year will expand CAMP READ A LOT to add WRITE A LOT. Students in the Third Grade will now be tested on writing skills along with everything else. Mrs. Weaver requested crayons, pencils, glue sticks, and journals which have been purchased. (all on sale) Other items such as tissues and hand sanitizer will be purchased. We will request funds for the first set of books in August. CAMP READ AND WRITE A LOT will begin in the fall.
